I received a lovely email last night from Sarah Kupferschmidt. She and partner Nancy Defina-Marchese co-founded Special Appucations.
Sarah contacted me asking if I could include her information on “Speaking Autism” site and I said of course! I would be delighted and honored.
There are two reasons I created this website: the first is to provide a directory for people to access information and resource material and the second is to give motivation and inspiration to families and individuals living and dealing with autism. I want to reach out to as many people as I can, so when someone reaches out to me and asks me to add their information to the directory, it not only makes me happy, it makes me proud.
Special Appucation has launed their first app called “ABA Find It!”. Sarah writes in her email:
“Our first app, ABA Find It! is now available on iTunes. This app features Stanley the Elephant, an animated character who invites children to identify real-life objects within a specific category (for example, food or animals) using Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) techniques and high-quality imagery. ABA Find It! will help your child improve their language skills, rewarding and motivating them as they master each new level. As a caregiver, you’re also able to keep track of your child’s progress as performance data is collected and compiled in to a special progress report. Special Appucations products not only make learning fun and engaging, they’re also an affordable way to enhance your child’s current learning program.”
I invite you to check out their website “Special Appucations” and their app on iTunes.
Thank you Sarah and Nancy for contacting me and sharing your information!
